SEMI-AUTONOMOUS BALL LAUNCHING ROBOT

The primary feature that one finds fascinating is the flappers on the robot, which were done after a lot of trial and error methods. It is important to note that such designs should be done with great care and with keen observation and with their 100 percent correctness.

Because of its light weight and strength, aluminium is used to make blocks. Attached in such a way that each part supports the other, with two pairs of grippers at each end for grasping the shuttlecock. The flappers are connected by a "Guide rod-Guide sleeve" to hold them together when the flapper opens to accept the shuttlecock in the gripper. The flapper also features magnets on one end that are used by the sensors to open the piston rod and stop the flapper from rotating after it has released the ball towards the pole after the desired number of spins. When the piston rod opens, the flapper will come with full power and be stopped by the piston rod, which will damage the flapper, so we installed an aluminium block and bolted it with a rubber material that comes into touch with the piston rod. The final flapper design did not have one pair of flappers on one of its ends, but instead used the formula to keep a counter-weight.

The piston block can be found supporting the flapper towards one of the sides, which is connected to 2.25 litters of bottles filled with air for pneumatics, which closes the block when the gripper grabs the shuttlecock with the help of the air inside the bottles, which pushes the piston rod, which intern pushes the flapper. This is held in place by two blocks with the same radius as the piston rod, where the piston rod goes in. The piston rod is linked to a regulator through wires that rest on an aluminium rod support.Pneumatics is a branch of science that uses air under pressure to execute a purpose; the best aspect is that it is accurate and light in comparison to hydraulics.

The motor is attached to the flapper and helps in rotating the flapper; the movement of rotation is caused by the motor, which is connected to a chain, and one end of the chain is mounted to the flange of the plumber block and the other end to the shaft of the motor (pinion), and the plumber block acts as the gear. And because the flapper is located on the plumbing block, it has a higher torque because it is connected to the wheel (gear). If the flapper is connected to a motor, it has a higher speed. We must act in accordance with the requirements. The same plate on which the motor assembly rests has a piston on it, which, as previously stated, stops the flapper once it has released the ball.
